Privacy policy

Karaoque was built to collect as little as possible. On the website we don't ask for sign-up, email or phone number. In the mobile app, creating an account with Google is optional. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we process and why, in accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018).

What data we process

• Session identifier: an anonymous code stored in your browser (cookie and localStorage) to keep you connected to the party. It does not identify you personally.
• Nickname: the name you choose for the party.
• Photo (optional): if you choose an avatar, the image is linked to your session and appears only within your party.
• Party activity: requested songs, reactions and scores, so the queue and the leaderboard work.
• Technical data: basic usage information to keep the service running and prevent abuse.
• Analytics and advertising: pages viewed, searches, requested songs and purchases, along with IP address, browser, approximate city and an anonymous device identifier. We use Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to understand how Karaoque is used and to measure our ads. We do not send your nickname, photo, Instagram handle or the content of messages.

App account (optional)

If you sign in with Google in the Karaoque app, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google. We use this data only to keep the history of your parties (songs, scores and dates) and to fill in your name and photo when you join a party. We do not receive your password or access to any other data in your Google account.

Mobile app: camera and notifications

The app uses the camera only to scan the QR code on the TV, without recording or storing images. If you allow it, the app receives notifications (such as "it's your turn to sing"); for this we store a device notification identifier, which is deleted when you sign out or uninstall the app.

What we DO NOT do

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your microphone for anything other than streaming your voice, live, to the TV at your own party (without recording).

How long we keep data

Party data exists while the party is active and for a short period afterwards, for the leaderboard. You can remove your photo whenever you want. When the party ends, the associated data is no longer displayed.

Microphone and voice

When it's your turn to sing, the browser asks for permission to use the microphone. Your voice is sent in real time to the party TV and is not recorded or stored. When you leave the stage, microphone access ends.

YouTube

Videos are displayed through the YouTube player, which may set its own cookies. Use of YouTube is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Your rights

You can access, correct or request deletion of your data. Without an account, just end the party and clear your browser data.

Deleting your app account: in the app, open My account › Delete my account. Deletion is immediate: we delete the account, the email, the photo and the notification identifier, and the history is no longer linked to you. If you no longer have the app, request deletion by emailing [email protected] with the email address of your Google account; we reply within 15 days. Details at karaoque.com/excluir-conta.
